Louis B. Wright was born in 1908 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He studied art and design at the University of Iowa and later urban design at Harvard, where he earned his degree in architecture. He was a professor at the University of Massachusetts and the University of California before becoming the director of the American Institute of Architects' office in Los Angeles
Wright's work ranged from designing movie sets to creating furniture for The Museum of Modern Art. He died in 1988.
